BOTSWANA CIRCUIT, A VINTAGE SAFARI
The Okavango Delta, the big game Kwando River concession, Nxai Pan and the Central Kalahari Game Reserve - the highlights of Botswana in one seamless adventure.
By definition a circuit implies completion. This vintage safari has been designed with a "feeling of completion" in mind. A full and extraordinary range of places, people and activities, that will complete an unforgettable safari. We feel we have achieved the perfect balance of wildlife, culture and adventure.
Africa is exciting, massive, diverse and alive and so are staff and camps on this safari. The experienced and friendly staff will be there to guide and assist you every step of the way, from the moment you step off your international flight, to the sad day we bid you farewell.
Throughout your journey, there is one thing we can guarantee. The spirit of Africa and its people will touch you. It might be a herd of elephant against a blood red sunset, a relaxing Gin & Tonic as the sun sets over the bush or a simple handshake and a smile from a village elder. Somewhere along the way, you will experience something uniquely African, leaving an indelible print on your memory.
Day One & Two
Your first stop, a mere 25 minutes flying time, will be at Nxai Pan, deep in the heart of Nxai Pan National Park - The Nxai Pans were once part of the great lake that covered central Botswana. Nxai pan is well known for its huge springbok population and once the rains have started, gemsbok, elephants and zebras migrate to the region.
After your time in our magnificent and unique desert areas – it is a short flight to Kwara , or it's intimate sister camp, Little Kwara, deep in the crystal clear permanent waters of the Okavango Delta. Time at Kwara will reveal why the Delta, with all its remarkable plant, bird and animal life, is unique in the world.
The water experience, either fishing, on a mekoro or exploring the channels and rivers by boat, is spectacular.
Day Three & Four
From Kwara, it’s a flight north to Lebala at the southern edge of the massive Kwando concession. You may be tempted to while away the hours in the luxurious tents, but the promise of some of Africa’s best game viewing will hopefully lure you onto a game drive and out across the stunning wide open plains around the camp.
Day Five & Six
The intimate and tranquil atmosphere of Lagoon , some 30 kilometers away is next. Set on the banks of an oxbow of the Kwando River, Lagoon is remote and beautiful. For many months of the year you’ll see elephant drinking from the water next to the camp and witness the huge herds of buffalo that keep close proximity to the Kwando River.
Wild dogs, lion, cheetah, leopard and hyena are all never far away from their food sources. Over the years, many of our guests have been fortunate enough to see some of the incredible interactions between predator and prey species. Sometimes, even predator against predator.
These are ancient struggles that very few people in the world are privileged to witness.
Fly to Maun for your journey home OR we can continue your safari to Victoria Falls
